Glass tongues reflect insincere human communication that uses stinging irony, sarcasm, lies, flattery, twaddle, manipulation. This synthetic interaction usually comes from selfish stimulus. At first sight, it is not difficult to maintain an object in your mouth, but in the long run the weight begins to feel, the jaw initiates involuntary vibration, the forehead gets all wrinkled up, and the eyes blinking frequency rises. The longer a glass tongue is being held, the greater the discomfort becomes, the more weight is being felt. It is an allusion to the feelings caused by synthetic communication - discomfort, pain, anxiety, fear, and at the same time a certain pride, attention seeking, bloat. Only on the personality it depends what size, shape, weight the tongue one will choose and how long it may be held. Or maybe one shall not choose at all?
